Here’s something you don’t see every day! Israeli fans of Guns N’ Roses went wild when the guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, aka Ronald Jay Blumenthal, performed his very own rendition of Israel’s national anthem, “Hatikvah,” on stage in Tel Aviv last week. In the lead up to the concert, a BDS group called Metalheads Against Apartheid petitioned Guns N’ Roses to cancel its show, but the group refused. Audience members sang loudly along to Blumenthal’s guitar rendition, which segued into “Don’t You Cry.” Rock on, Israel!
